Nikon D700 Digital SLR Camera Body Only

Add caption
The D700 extends Nikon's range of FX format SLRs, incorporating groundbreaking technologies and performance into a discreetly-sized body. The highly sensitive 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor provides an (extendable) ISO range of 200 to 6400 and features a self-cleaning dust-reduction unit. Its EXPEED image processing engine enables the capture of images with superb detail and tonal gradation at up to 5 fps (8 fps with the optional MB-D10 battery pack and EN-EL4a battery).

The advanced Scene Recognition System delivers superior exposures and is supported by Nikon's acclaimed 51-point AF system, which offers outstanding tracking accuracy even in low light. The selectable Picture Controls streamline in-camera image processing, saving time in post-production, and a high definition 3-inch LCD screen supports two Live View modes plus an HDMI video output. Protected by a tough, environmentally-sealed magnesium alloy body, the D700 is a perfectly-balanced DSLR that can handle the unexpected, wherever your photography takes you.

Stunning, Amazing, breath taking results. Perfect still image camera !
Its been a year i am using the Nikon D700 and i am so glad i bought it. Before purchasing this camera i did not know, how excellent pictures are made. This camera takes perfect photos. The exposure is spot on, the colours are true and vibrant, the highlights and shadows are beautifully taken care of. Very fast in operation, the D700 is a smaller version of D3. Overall its a perfect still image camera, trust me you dont need more pixels. 12 mega pixels are more than enough for an advanced amature like me. And i am sure professionals dont want too many pixels either. This camera captures raw files at 14 to 15 megapixel size. The D700 is outstanding in low light conditions, i use fast shutter speeds without the flash and pictures come out beautiful. Great camera for ambient light photography. Only one thing i wish for is that this camera was lighter in weight, at nearly 1 kg its not a lightweight camera. In the future i hope Nikon will produce lighter weight cameras with D700 like image quality. I highly recomment this camera for its picture quality, speed of operation, compatibilty with 35mm(full frame) lenses and its bright and big viewfinder.

I worked with this camera for two years, and it was stolen from me a month ago. I went shopping for another camera, and still could not find anything better in the market (I'm not a Canon person, and the D3's are too bulky) so I bought the D700 again. It is a great pair with the 24-70mm 2.8 lens.

I will keep this camera for long. It is the master of darkness and works very well in almost every respect also in daylight. I am very pleased with myself to have bought it.
